One sentence

Macrobell is a free calorie counter and workout log with a free barcode scanner and no ads, with AI photo calories and coaching for $2.99 a month.

One paragraph

Macrobell puts food tracking and gym tracking in one app. Its brand turns each macro into a competition plate: red for protein, yellow for carbs, blue for fat, green for fiber, so your day “loads up” like a bar. The diary, barcode scanner, macro targets, workout log, muscle map, steps and squads are free with no ads, a direct answer to rivals that charge around $80 a year for a barcode scanner. Macrobell Plus adds AI photo calorie counting, menu and fridge suggestions, an AI form score from a video of your set, and an overload coach for $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year.

The story

Macrobell is made by Patrick Proffitt in Palm Springs, California. It started with a simple rule: the basics of tracking should be free, without ads, and the smart extras should cost less than a coffee. It is launching first on Google Play, with local gyms in the Coachella Valley as its first community.
